OnQ/Legrand announces the end of HMS products

The following excerpts are from a recent announcement by OnQ/Legrand:

LegrandOn-Q/Legrand and Home Automation, Inc (HAI) announce the conclusion of a long standing OEM relationship on behalf of the On-Q Home Management System (HMS) line of product offerings.  For over a decade, HAI has been an OEM partner of On-Q/Legrand, building a wide variety of HMS controllers, devices, user interfaces, modules and software solutions.  This transition will be effective December 31, 2008.  Both organizations are committed to ensuring minimal impact on channel partners, integrators and end user customers.

As we look toward the future we jointly determined the best interests of our mutual customers can be met with a strategy positioning HAI as the source for those solutions previously provided by an HMS-branded product.  Not only will the HAI Omni family of controllers, peripherals and ancillary offerings meet the features and functions of the HMS branded products, but customers will benefit from ongoing development from the HAI team.

On-Q/Legrand and HAI are committed to ensuring this transition is a smooth one for ALL customers.

  • Effective January 1, 2009, HAI will provide all ongoing support for HMS products to past and current On-Q HMS customers;
  • Effective January 1, 2009, HAI will assume responsibility for comprehensive technical support for On-Q HMS dealer and systems;
  • On-Q/Legrand will continue to handle all warranty and returns for HMS products and part numbers, working closely with HAI to ensure timely warranty support;
  • On-Q/Legrand and HAI will create dedicated sections on their respective websites to provide transition details, sales and marketing support information, technical support contacts and a dedicated cross-listing of part numbers for all HMS offerings.

On-Q/Legrand and HAI are committed to working together to minimize the impact and facilitate the shift from HMS to HAI as we close this long-standing OEM understanding.
