‘Tis the Season for Hassle-Free Holiday Lighting

Venturing out in the cold and snow just to turn on/off the Holiday lights is not always enjoyable, and leaving the lights on all night is too expensive! With these kits from PCS, you can enjoy your holiday lights without these hassles.

Plug your seasonal lights into the PCS Appliance Module. Then plug a Desktop Keypad into any other outlet in your home. Using your home’s existing powerlines, you now have one touch control of your lighting. Expand your control by plugging your indoor decorations (like a Christmas Tree) into the PCS Lamp Module for full control of indoor lights (on, off, dim, etc.).

Better yet, with the DDT Desktop Daily Timer, you may program the lights to automatically come on at Sunset and turn off at bedtime. The on/off times may vary so it appears someone is home and never worry whether you left the lights on again.

Are you visiting relatives this season, attending a holiday party or going on vacation? Program the lights to automatically turn on at different times of the night for a lived-in look.

Home Controls is offerings two Holiday Lighting Control kits from PCS:

PCS Desktop Lighting Kit, Plug-In: 1 DDT Desktop Controller/Timer (Tabletop controller with custom timer); 2 Lamp Modules 400W; 2 Appliance Modules 12A; and 1 Plug-In Phase Coupler (Connects the phases in an electrical panel).

PCS Desktop Lighting Kit, Wire-In: 1 DDT Desktop Controller/Timer (Tabletop controller with custom timer); 4 Wall Switches 600W; 1 Lamp Module 400W; and 1 Wire-In Phase Coupler (Connects the phases in an electrical panel).

One of my Favorite Things

I have to admit that after 5 years of selling and recommending automation solutions, lighting controls, security et al., I have compiled a list of a few products (out of the thousands that Home Controls distribute) that offer unique solutions or features. Many of these are products that “fly under the radar” and until the need arises may never be noticed or get the attention they deserve. The following is just one of those unique products… What is it?

It’s the Dual Channel Lamp Module Dimmer (PCLM28) by Powerline Control Systems (PCS/PulseWorx). What makes this rather unique is the dual channel control feature.

The PCLM28 Dual Channel Lamp Module is a high quality plug-in home automation lamp dimmer that is capable of transmitting and receiving digital commands and status over the existing powerlines using UPS technology.

The LM2 is perfect for master bedrooms and living rooms where two lamps need to be remotely controlled. Simply plug the LM2 into any standard wall outlet and plug the lamp(s) into the LM2’s two bottom controlled outlets.

The LM2 is designed for controlling incandescent, fluorescent, or magnetic low voltage loads. It can provide as much as 800W of power at any one time split between the two channels. The dimmer function can also be disabled, turning the outlets into a switch, to allow the LM2 to turn on and off non-dimmable loads such as fans or radios.

Program Your UPB System Remotely!

The new Network Device Server from PulseWorx enables you to use UPStart with a PIM-R, over the internet, without a dedicated on-site computer. You do not need to be an IT expert, know how to forward a port, or open up a firewall! This allows for the remote management, control and access to a customer’s PulseWorx system via UPStart — eliminating the need to be on the job site.

PCNDS1111PWOverview

Access or connecting to a PIM-R or other serial device at a remote location, over the internet, or LAN has never been easier. The Network Device Server employs approved, industry standard TCP-IP and telnet protocols to provide all the necessary networking functionality with a very small footprint.

PCS partnered with Systech Computer Corporation to develop a full service software solution called RAPS (Remote Access Port Server). This easy-to-use software package combined with the compact NDS hardware creates a total remote automation management solution for both residential and industrial applications — anywhere you have a network connection.

The Network Device Server, along with the RAPS configuration software allows for the management, control and access to a customer’s PulseWorx system via UPStart while eliminating the need to be on the job site.

RAPS is robust, secure, and user friendly, saving system integrators and installers time and money. It provides customers with a safe, trouble-free solution for remote automation management access with the highest degree of secure customer service available.

Setup & Configuration

By combining the Network Device Service, a serial-to-IP device, and the RAPS software, you can now gain secure access to any serial device at a remote site via the internet, while keeping your clients existing network intact.

No end-user configuration is required — simply plug the pre-configured hardware into your customer’s network and quickly gain secure access to the attached serial device through the PCS RAP Server.

PulseWorx Lighting Control System

The Network Device Server is designed to be an integral part of PCS’s PulseWorx Lighting Control System. It is also compatible with other manufacturers UPB devices.
