HAI Snap-Link Mobile Now Features Remote Control for Audio & Video

HAI (Home Automation, Inc.) announced that the iTunes store now features version 1.07 of Snap-Link Mobile that includes the ability to remotely control audio/video equipment when used in conjunction with an HAI Home Theater Extender (HTX2).

HTX2The HTX2 (HAI part number 86A00-2) allows for audio/video control using iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch (iOS devices) integrated with HAI’s Snap-Link Mobile application and an HAI home control system. Additionally, HAI’s free HTX2 Mobile Designer software allows for the creation and/or customization of GUI (Graphical User Interface) “remote control” pages that are used for controlling A/V equipment using an iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch.

Interface designs for iOS devices can be modified using HAI’s HTX2 Mobile Designer software. HAI provides generic templates that can be customized for TV’s, Blu-Ray/DVD players, A/V receivers, satellite/cable boxes, tuners, projectors, CD changers, and more. Advanced users can modify the provided templates, design their own templates, or purchase templates from third-parties. Users can even create macro buttons like “Play Movie” to activate a chain of commands, so that all of the applicable audio/video devices are set accordingly with the touch of one button. Audio/video devices can also be separated by room using PC Access so that when the homeowner selects the Living Room, they only gain access to the AV devices within that room.

The iOS device sends the command to the HTX2, which controls the A/V equipment using serial ports, IR ports, IP (TCP/UDP) and SPDT relays. Over 300,000 IR codes are built-in, and additional codes may be added using the IR Learner.

HAI’s HTX2 Mobile Designer software, Snap-Link Mobile for iPhone/iPad, and the HTX2 are now available. Existing users of Snap-Link Mobile for iPhone/iPad can upgrade their application for free to gain access to the audio/video remote control functionality.

“Adding remote control for AV equipment into our app is very exciting for HAI and our installing dealers” explains Jay McLellan, HAI President and CEO. “Homeowners can now change the channel on the TV, adjust the temperature of the thermostat, lock the front door, or view a surveillance camera all from one hand-held application.”

The HAI HTX2 may also be used with OmniTouch 5.7e Touchscreens. Customized A/V interfaces for HAI Touchscreens are developed using HAI’s Automation Studio, which is also used to configure the functionality of the HTX2.

Keep Your Phone (and Your Sanity) with the ZOMM Wireless Leash Plus

Wireless Leash Plus by ZOMMThis product is amazing! Home Controls is proud to be carrying the Wireless Leash Plus by ZOMM, a small and compact safety device that provides a panic alarm, one-touch 911 access, a speakerphone and alerts you if you ever accidentally misplace or leave your phone.

Using the latest in Bluetooth technology, the ZOMM Wireless Leash Plus combines several amazing features into one small and compact keychain device. It connects with your cell phone and provides a portable speakerphone, alerts you when you forget your phone, operates as a panic alarm and even calls 911 in an emergency. The ZOMM Wireless Leash Plus works with any Bluetooth-enabled phone, including iPhones, iPads, iPod Touch and Android.

  • Never lose your valuables: Attach your ZOOM Wireless Leash Plus to anything you don’t want to lose, including keys, purses, backpacks, luggage, etc. If your mobile phone and the ZOMM become separated (between 30-120 feet), then it breaks the Bluetooth connection and triggers the ZOMM’s out of range alert.
  • Portable Speakerphone: With a tap of the Z-button, the ZOMM becomes a portable speakerphone. You can answer your mobile phone from ZOMM, as well as transfer an existing call to and from your phone.
  • In Case of Emergency: The ZOMM Wireless Leash comes with a built-in PANIC alarm that is designed to draw attention to you if you are in an emergency situation. Press the Z-Button for 9 seconds and the device activates a piercing PANIC alarm with flashing lights. Hold the Z-Button for 15 seconds and the Wireless Leash uses your cell phone to automatically call 911.
  • myZOMM: Download the free myZOMM App to customize your Wireless Leash. You can get the latest firmware updates for new and exciting features, change your settings (including your name, emergency number and more), change your address or password whenever you need and more. You can also adjust the volume setting of each alert as well as the length of the Wireless Leash, whether you want it to alert at a short or long distance.

Best of all, it’s only $79.95 with no monthly service fees!

If you think you’ve found a cheaper version on another website, then think again. You may be looking at the original Wireless Leash, which does not work with the Apple iPhones, iPads or iPod touches. Home Controls is one of the few authorized sellers of the newest version, The ZOMM Wireless Leash Plus (make sure you see the PLUS in the name).
