Which thingie do I use?

Attention, all you users of UPB!  Did you know that there are plug-in signal phase couplers? In addition to the hard-wired and breaker panel variants, we can offer these easy-to-install units. All you have to do is determine which type of 240 VAC receptacle, or outlet, you are going to use and then plug it in.

First, find the outlet.  Typical appliances that utilize 240 VAC are the electric stove and dryer. You’re most likely going to use the dryer plug so go look at the dryer’s location. If you have a gas dryer, good for you, the 240 VAC outlet won’t have anything plugged into it, and it should be on the wall within six feet of the dryer.  If you do have an electric dryer, follow the cord from the dryer and you will find it plugged into the outlet. All of the models I’ll be listing below have a pass-through port so you won’t lose the use of the outlet.  The dryer plugs into the phase coupler and the phase coupler plugs in to the outlet.

OK. Now take a look at the outlet.  It better look like one of these three drawings or you are just plain out of luck.  The type of outlet is described and the applicable part number(s) are provided. Links to the Home Controls website will be found at the end of this topic.  This is a 30 amp outlet.

Here’s a another type of 30 amp outlet. Note that this one has four prongs instead of three.

And the last one, which is a 50 amp outlet, looks like this.

Were you able to identify which outlet you have?  Good! Here are the links to the featured products on our website.
